Peel Monument Peel Park Salford (Architectural Competition)

The sub-committee recommend that the second prize of £25 be given to the artist of the architectural design – a fountain with the motto “In memoriam” taking into account its utility as well as its appropriateness for a situation like Peel Park. [Manchester Courier 15 February 1851 page 9]
