Located on Railway Road at the corner of Back Salford. The New Electra Palace Cinema opened in September 1913. In 1920, it was taken over by the Associated Provincial Picture Houses (APPH) chain and was known as the Palace Cinema from around 1922. Closed on 1 June 1957. In 2009, the auditorium was in use as B & M Bargains cut price supermarket, with the front entrance and foyer replaced by a new entrance.

TO BUILDERS —Tenders are required for the erection of a CINEMATOGRAPH THEATRE, proposed to be erected in Railway Road, Leigh. Drawings may be seen and bulls of quantities obtained on application to the undersigned on payment of two guineas which will be returned on receipt of a bone-fide tender for the work.
