Picture Palace. Rochdale

Victoria Picture Theatres Limited - The company was formed for the purpose of acquiring sites and “erecting thereon substantial brick and stone buildings to be used as electric picture theatres, or public halls where animated pictures are shown,” following the passing of the Cinematograph Act of 1909. The directors proposed to erect 20 such theatres, including at Rochdale and St Helens. W H Longworth company architect.
