LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE OF A NEW PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHAPEL AT HESKETH BANK - The foundation stone of a new Primitive Methodist Chapel and Sunday School was laid at Hesketh Bank, on Monday last. The want of such premises has long been fell in this district, and it is estimated that when the chapel is completed it will seat about 350 persons. The building will be in a very plain style, 20 yards long by 12 yards wide. and the cost of construction is estimated at £490. The school room will be beneath the chapel, which will be in the second storey. A good many of the seats will be free. The materials will carted gratuitously by the farmers of the district, a good many of whom have also given handsome subscriptions. The architect is Mr John Wild and the contractors, Messm Wright and Vaughan, of Southport. [Preston Herald - Saturday 11 March 1871 page 6]
