The memorial stones of a new chapel in Ashton Old Road, Higher Openshaw were laid on Saturday afternoon. The style of the new building is Gothic and it will be faced with Accrington pressed bricks with Ruabon stone dressings. In the interior there will be circular galleries of pitch pine, Accommodation will be provided for about 400 worshippers. The cost is estimated at £2100. The building is being erected by Mr Clement Wallworth of Gorton from the designs of Mr J D Mould.
