The memorial stones of a new Primitive Methodist chapel were laid at Ramsbottom, near Manchester, on the 18th inst. The site is in Bolton Street and the building, which is from designs by Mr. J. D. Mould, architect, of Manchester, includes chapel and schools, the schools being under the chapel. The chapel is estimated to seat 518 persons. It is in the Renaissance style and has a circular tower. The contract has been let for £3,050 to Messrs. Wolstenholme, of Edenfield; but other expenses will bring up the cost to £3,400.  [Building News 26 April 1889 page 608]
