Primitive Methodist Church Eagle Brow Lymm Cheshire

PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH, LYMM - The foundation stone has just been laid of a new building for the Primitive Methodists of Lymm. The interior of the new chapel will be 49 feet long by 29 feet wide, and 29 feet to the ceiling. There will be a vestibule to the front, and the rear of the building will be semi-circular, with space for the choir, organ, communion table etc. A vestry is placed over the heating chamber. The floor of the chapel will be 9 feet above the roadway and will be approached by twelve steps. The architect is Mr J D Mould of Manchester and Bury, and the contractor Mr Henry Thomason of Lymm. A chapel was first established in 1850. A new church was opened in 1898 next to the original chapel. In 1966 the chapel united with Lymm New Road (formerly Wesleyan) Chapel.
