Proposed Cemetery Back Bower Estate Hyde

At the monthly meeting of Hyde Town Council yesterday the Cemetery Committee submitted a a scheme for a new cemetery to be formed on the Back Bower Estate, Stockport Road, Hyde, which was purchased by the Corporation some time ago. The cemetery is to be 11 acres in extent and the committee propose to borrow £6,500. The estimate of Mr Beaumont, the architect, is £6,051, of which £1,556 is for a chapel and £500 for a lodge.
