Proposed Cinema, Penny Street, Lancaster

Mr E.A. Hodge commissioned the architect, George Tonge of Southport to prepare designs for a new cinema to be erected on Penny Street, Lancaster,  with a rear elevation on James Lane. The detailed plans (No. 3126) were deposited with the Borough Surveyor on 7 July 1920 and the scheme was approved on 20th July. However, the project was further delayed by the aftermath of the Great War and failed to progress.
