Mr George Truefitt, an eminent architect residing in the locality has prepared sketches of the elevations and plans of the building. …. The building will be amply provided with rooms of various kinds and sizes, suitable for committee and other meetings. The lecture hall will accommodate about 800 people. The reading room and library will occupy the whole of one floor, and will be admirably adapted for the purposes required of them. The building itself will present an imposing appearance and the cost will be about £4,000.
