Proposed Restoration (2): St Mary’s Church, The Parsonage Manchester
ST. MARY'S CHURCH, PARSONAGE - We learn that the rector and churchwardens of St. Mary's, Parsonage, have decided to close that church, for probably about six months, on Monday next. This we understand, has been taken in view of the Dean and Cannons having undertaken to carry out certain restorations in the church which have been so long found necessary. The work of restoration has been entrusted to the Cathedral architect, Mr J S Crowther. During the time the church is closed divine service on Sunday morning and evening will be held in a building in South Gate, close to the church, for which purpose the Bishop's licence in the meantime will be obtained.
