PUBLIC ROOMS AT THE BATHS – A meeting of the directors of the Bolton Baths Company was held at the Dispensary, on Wednesday last, at which a deputation attended from the gentlemen who have interested themselves in the erection of a spacious room, above the house part of the establishment, for public meetings, etc. with the view of making an arrangement for carrying their object into effect. The additional expense was estimated at £1,200 by Mr Greenhalgh, architect; and the deputation, we understand, liberally offered to furnish the necessary funds for the purpose. As might be expected, the proposal was at once agreed to, and Mr Greenhalgh was instructed to prepare the plans and specifications for the undertaking. [Manchester Guardian 24 January 1846 page 8]

THE PUBLIC BATHS – The Bolton baths are now in a considerable state of forwardness, and should the weather be favourable, the large swimming bath for working men will be ready in a day or two. The building, which is under the superintendence of Mr Greenhaulgh, the architect, will be a very handsome structure.
