THE RESIDENCE OF DR J F HOWARD, SHAW, NEAR OLDHAM. The house, now completed, is situated at the side of a hill and considerably above the level of the road. It is built of red brick with stone dressings, and the roofs are covered with green slates. The ground plan given sufficiently shows the accommodation provided, the upper floors being devoted to bed, dressing, and bath-rooms. Stables are erected at the north-east angle of house, as shown in view. Messrs. A P Bell and George Freeth Roper were the architects, and Mr. Wharton the builder.
