TO STONEMASONS AND CONTRACTORS – Persons desirous of Contracting for the several Works required to be done in the Restoration of the Tower and other portions of the Parish Church, Ashton-under-Lyne, may see the drawings and obtain bills of quantities at the offices of Mr M Robinson, surveyor, 67 King Street, Manchester, on or after the 24th instant between the hours of ten and five o’clock. Sealed tenders to be delivered free of charge to Charles Greaves Esq, Stalybridge Road, Ashton-under-Lyne on or before the 3rd August, and it must be distinctly understood that the Restoration Committee do not pledge themselves to accept the lowest tender. TO MASONS AND CONTRACTORS - Persons willing to CONTRACT for the whole of the WORKS required to be done in taking down the existing tower of the Parish Church, Ashton-under-Lyne, and erecting a new tower on the site thereof, may inspect the drawings and' specifications at the vestry of the said Parish Church on and after the 9th of June and until the 14th of the same month between hours of ten and five. And bills of quantities of the said works will be supplied by the Committee at the said vestry on the above-mentioned days to contractors intending to compete on their depositing one pound sterling, such deposit to be returned to competitors on receipt of their tenders.
