PARISH CHURCH OF SS. MARY AND NICHOLAS, BEAUMARIS, ANGLESEA - THE interior of this church, of which we pub lish an illustration of the proposed restoration, presents some points of interest. At present the fabric consists of west tower, nave, aisles, and chancel, much mutilated. The tower, nave, and aisles are in the Decorated style, and the chancel, as will be seen, is Perpendicular in character. It is contemplated to restore the present dilapidated structure, comprising the nave, aisles, chancel, and tower, to its original state, re-roofing the whole in the style of the fifteenth century, ample evidences of which remain to guide the architect. At the beginning of this century the structure underwent repair, galleries were erected, the aisle walls and roofs raised to meet this, and the nave roof was cut down. These mutilations it is intended to revoke. Mr. R. J. Withers is the architect, and the estimated cost is £5,000. [Building News 10 March 1876 page 244]
