The new Higher Grade and Technical School at Rochdale was opened by Sir B Samuelson MP on Wednesday. The building has been erected from the designs of Messrs Butterworth and Duncan, South Parade, Rochdale, and carried out principally by W A Peters and Son at a cost of about £7000. Externally the walls are of Welsh brick and stone dressing. The general style is a free adaptation of Renaissance and the treatment throughout is horizontal. [Building News 28 April 1893 Page 589]
