New build

Built below Holy Trinity Brathay in 1859 in memory of Giles Redmayne (1793-1857). Pevsner suggests that this may be the work of George Tunstal Redmayne, then aged 19 and still to commence his articles. A more probable candidate is Alfred Waterhouse who in 1858 was employed to design the lodge at Brathay Hall.  Redmayne commenced independent practice about 1868.
