School Church Clitheroe Street Slade Lane Longsight
It has been proposed to meet the requirements of the populous district of Slade Lane Longsight by the erection of a school church in Clitheroe Street. The new building will be of brick with slated roof and will terminate hexagonally towards the east. At this end will be the chancel. The foundation stone of a new School Church is to be laid in Clitheroe Street, Slade Lane, Longsight by Sir W R Anson during the first week of February. The new structure will be of early Gothic design, from the drawings of Medland and Henry Taylor, architects of this city. [Manchester Guardian 10 January 1881 Page 8].
