PARK NEW SCHOOLS  -The new school will be a handsome stone structure, 59 feet 6 inches long by 40 feet wide, two stories in height, in the classic style of architecture, and will contain infants' class-room 12 feet by 13 feet 6 inches; large class-room, also used as a dining-room 23 feet by 30 feet.; and four class-rooms about 14feet by 14 feet, with store-room and apparatus-room, and lecture school-room, 46ft. by 36ft. The whole of the outside will be clean worked sandstone, and will have bold stone cornice pilasters and pediments. The school will be heated by hot water, and all woodwork is to be stained and varnished. The estimated cost is about £1,600- the architect being Mr James Maxwell, of Bury. OPENING OF THE PARK INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS. Yesterday, the new schools connected with Park Independent Chapel were opened. …  On Saturday, the 9th of June last, the cornerstone of a new and commodious school was laid by Joseph Porritt, senior, of Ramsbottom. The new school is a handsome stone structure, 59 feet 6 inches long, by 40 feet wide, two storeys in height, the classic style of architecture, and contains infant class-room, 12 feet by 13 feet 6 inches; large class-room, also used as a dining-room, 23 feet by 30 feet; and four class-rooms 14 feet by 14 feet wide, with store-room and apparatus-room; lecture or school-room 40 feet by 30 feet.
