Alterations and Extensions
The Cotton Districts Convalescent Fund ran convalescent hospitals at Southport, Buxton and Cheadle. At Southport new dormitories for the nurses and servants were first occupied in May 1895 while improvements to the ventilation of the wash-house and laundry had been greatly improved. Charles Heathcote reported that the cost of the work was slightly below the estimate.
