St. Andrew's School Church, South Levensholme, was opened by the Bishop of Manchester on Saturday. It has been erected from the designs of Mr H E Stelfox by Mr George Macfarlane. The building is of brick, faced with Accrington bricks throughout, with stone dressings. School accommodation is provided for 200 children, and the mission room provides for over 300 people. The cost, exclusive of furnishing, is about  £1,600. [Building News 21 July 1899 Page 62]
