St Cuthbert’s School Chapel, Lytham Road, South Shore, Blackpool

NEW CATHOLIC CHAPEL AT SOUTH SHORE - On Sunday morning, St. Cuthbert's new Catholic school and chapel were opened by the Right Rev. Dr. O'Reilly, the Catholic Bishop of Liverpool. The new building is situated on Lytham Road and is intended for both chapel and school purpose for some years to come and then for a school only, it being ultimately intended to build a church and priest's residence adjacent. The building is 84 feet long by 22 feet broad and has cost £500 It will seat 230, The architect is Mr. R B. Mather, of Blackpool. [Preston Herald 18 August 1880 page 7]
