ST GEORGE'S CHAPEL, OLDHAM ROAD - A building near St. George's Church, erected about commencement of the present (nineteenth) century, as a Swedenborgian-chapel, and bearing a tablet in the front wall "St. George's Chapel. 1803." While thus used, a small burial ground was attached to it, of which all fence or wall has long since disappeared, and some 40 or 50 tomb-stones are still there, but in no way divided from the surrounding waste land, The chapel has been used since 1827 as a Sunday school, in connection with St. George's Church. [Manchester Guardian 7 February 1839 page 2].

The chapel stood on land required by the Manchester to Leeds Railway and is assumed demolished in 1839
