St Mark's Church-School Barlow Lane Levenshulme
CHURCH EXTENSION AT LEVENSHULME. Yesterday (Wednesday) the new school-church dedicated to St Mark and in connection with the parish church of St Peter, Levenshulme, was set apart for the service of God. The building is a substantial one of brick, and is intended to serve as a church on Sundays and as a day school for infants on weekdays, the Education Department having sanctioned it as accommodation for 181 children. For worship purposes seats are provided for 300 worshippers, all free and unappropriated. The building has been erected by Messrs Bullivant and Son, Newton Heath, from plans by Mr J H Maybury, architect. The total cost, including land and furnishings, will be about ,1,100.
