St Peter’s Church Ashley Road, Hale
ST. PETER’S CHURCH, BOWDON, CHESHIRE - The Building Committee have accepted the tender of Mr. James Hamilton, contractor, Altrincham, for the erection of St. Peter’s Church, Bowdon. The architects are Messrs. Tate & Popplewell, of Mosley-street, Manchester. The work is to be commenced at once and pushed on at all speed. [Builder 9 August 1890 page 113]
PEEL CAUSEWAY - A new district church, dedicated to St. Peter, is being built at Peel-causeway*, near Warrington, a cost of about £5,000. The church is being erected from the designs of Messrs Tate and Popplewell, and the style adopted is the Early English. The walls are of brick, with terracotta dressings. there will be a nave with side passages and a chancel. On the south side will be a parish hall and on the north side are large vestries for the use of the choir and clergy. The arcade will consist of four principal piers with small intermediate: and the roof will be open-timbered. Messrs Hamilton and Son, of Warrington, are the contractors.
