Architect Henry E Stelfox ARIBA. C. K. and T C Mayor completed the building following the death of Stelfox.
Lord Ellesmere donated £500 towards the cost of the schools, which were to cost £10,000 and be among the largest in Lancashire. [British Architect 23 September 1904 Page 235]
Messrs C. K. and T C Mayor of John Dalton Street have this week been appointed architects to the new schools in connection with St Peter's Church, Swinton, in lieu of the late Mr Henry E Stelfox ARIBA. These schools are designed to accommodate one thousand children in two main buildings but it is only intended at present to proceed with the mixed school for 640 scholars.[Manchester City News 14 January 1905.
