Restoration Alterations
Having purchased the Staton estate, Stott began with his own house, Stanton Court, removing all traces of Georgian accretions, replacing them with “correct” Neo-Jacobean restorations. He altered the pitch of the roofs, moved the front entrance and the main staircase and generally made the house more habitable.
