SWINTON WAR MEMORIAL – The Swinton and Pendlebury War Memorial, which has been erected in Victoria Park, Swinton was unveiled yesterday by Mr W P Kidd, in the presence of two to three thousand people. The memorial is of Portland stone and has been designed by Mr J H Sellers, architect of Manchester, and built by Messrs F M and H Nuttall of Whitefield. [Manchester Guardian 1 December 1930]

As a result of vandal damage the war memorial was moved to its present location near to the Civic Centre on Manchester Road.
