We give this week an illustration of a lodge to be erected on the Withington side of the Manley Hall Estate, at a gateway to be known as “The Swiss Lodge Entrance,” A space 100 yards long will be recessed in a parallel line to the road for carriages when waiting. An avenue will be laid in a straight line from this entrance to the pavilion. At right angles, another avenue will connect the pavilion with a new lodge and entrance to be designated “The Elizabethan Lodge Entrance” in Chorlton Road. The architects are Messrs Smith and Heathcote, Mosley Street, Manchester. [British Architect 27 August 1875 Page 117]
