A pair of semi-detached houses numbered 241 and 243 Didsbury Road built on the site of a former Victorian house called Heaton Mount. Pevsner describes them as “quiet Arts and Crafts” but does not attribute an architect. However, an archive at Manchester Metropolitan University Special Collections contains plans for elaborate rear garden layouts by Taylor and Young. As the style of the houses is very similar to others designed by them in the 1920s and as Cecil Young lived at no 241 from at least 1927 to 1955, it seems almost certain that they were the architects.
