NEW CHAPEL AT CHORLEY.-On Friday last, the foundation stone of a chapel and school for the United Methodist Free Church was laid by Mr. James Sidebottom, of Manchester. The chapel, which is to be erected in Railway-street, close to the Chorley Station, will accommodate 350 persons, and preparation is made for a gallery when required. The school (in addition to three class-rooms) is placed under the chapel, though out of the ground, and will hold 250 children. The main portions of the walls are of brick, with stone dressings. The cost, including fence walling, gas, heating apparatus, etc., will be about £1,500. Messrs Whyatt and Redford, of Manchester and London, are the architects. The contract has been undertaken by Mr. James Nightingale and Mr. Robert Pickup of Chorley.
