A new warehouse and shops are being built at the corner of Mount-street and Lloyd-street, opposite the Town hall, and the Corporation, taking advantage of the new building, have arranged for an improved approach into Albert Square. Messrs Royle & Bennett are the architects and also of another important block of shops and warehouses at the corner of Mosley-street and York-street.

The warehouse in Mosley Street was opposite to the Lancashire Mercantile Bank. Both corners of this junction were redeveloped in the last half of the twentieth century.
