KETTERING - The chief stones of a new Wesleyan Chapel have been laid here. The site is in Silver –street. The chapel is to be about 64 feet long by 40 feet wide, and the sittings will accommodate 630 persons. The architect is Mr G Woodhouse of Bolton-le-Moors, and the builder is Mr John Watkins of Northampton. The cost of the chapel is estimated at £2,100 exclusive of land and all conveyances. KETTERING. The new Wesleyan Chapel situated in Silver-street, is now nearly completed. It is in the Italian style, and is built of red bricks, the front and sides being faced with Bath stone, carved. The chapel will seat about 700 persons, and the entire cost is £3,000. Mr John Tordoff, who has given £1,000 towards the building fund, has announced his intention of presenting an organ to the chapel. Mr George Woodhouse, of Bolton-le- Moors, is the architect and Mr John Watkin, Northampton, the builder.  [Building News, 22 March 1867 page 214]
