Westwood Conservative Club, Chadderton Road, Oldham
A somewhat nondescript building of brick with slate roof at the corner of Chadderton Road and Eleanor Street. Lacking any architectural pretentions, it was almost indistinguishable from the surrounding terraced housing. Winston Churchill frequented Westwood's Conservative club and orated there during his period as Member of Parliament for Oldham. The club is believed to have closed in the 1960s. In 1999 new owners took over the building and converted it into an Indian Restaurant. Subsequently rebuilt as Westwood House.
