Porter J M and Company

With the departure of C E Elcock to Manchester in 1912 J M Porter continued the Colwyn Bay office alone until 1918,( based on classified advertisements in the local papers). From 1919 it operated under the style of J. M. Porter & Company and in due course Mr J. M. Porter’s son, John Lawrence Porter, a surveyor like his father, took over the running of the Estate Office and remained there until the firm closed in 1973. The business was now primarily that of estate agents, with very few architectural commissions undertaken.
