The son of Thomas (i) and Mary Ellen Shelmerdine, Edward Shelmerdine was born in 1852/3 at Everton and trained as an architect. He died, aged 32, on 15 September 1884, leaving a widow, Margaret and a young daughter, Elizabeth. In 1879 the family were living at Seaforth where Elizabeth was baptised on 11 November 1879. In 1884 he was living at 56 Princes Road, Liverpool. Funeral and burial 18 September 1884. He was in partnership with his brother Henry Shelmerdine until 26 April 1882.
