Little is yet known of John Webster, who practiced in Manchester in the 1860s and early 1870s, briefly in partnership with Charles Shaw c1865-1867. Known works in Manchester comprise a handful of Methodist Chapels, the last opened in 1869. His subsequently moved to Yorkshire where he was employed as an assistant architect in Yorkshire. By 1901 he was recorded as an architect’s clerk, resident in Hammersmith.
