The son of Isaiah Symons Dutch, of Manchester, Leonard Harris Dutch was born at Pendleton on 6 October 1864 and was educated at Manchester Grammar School. He served his articles with W.R. Corson, Manchester, and for several years gained experience in some of the principal offices in Manchester and district.Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (by examination), 1894.
