Robert Curran was the son of Thomas Curran and Elizabeth (Longden). Thomas was born in Manchester but had moved to Sweden about 1834, returning to Stockport with his family about 1845. Details of Robert Curran’s education and training are not known but by 1869 Robert Curran had married and set up in practice as an architect and land surveyor in Warrington. He remained in practice here until the early years of the twentieth century. At the end of his career, he obtained three commissions for new Roman Catholic Churches and Chapels in Scotland, Wales and at Latchford. All are now listed.
