Thomas Tully was one of the vast number of Irish who emigrated to Lancashire in the nineteenth century. By 1861 he was a building contractor in Broughton employing 14 men and one boy. However, when he stood in Salford Municipal Elections for St John’s Ward in 1867 he had been transformed into an architect and surveyor. Known works are dated 1866-1872. No later records have been found.
