ALTRINCHAM FREE LIBRARY AND TECHNICAL SCHOOL, OPENING CEREMONY. The new free library and technical school were opened at Altrincham on Saturday afternoon. The Local Board were exceptionally fortunate to have handed over to them by the then Trustees of the Literary Institute which including building, library site etc, was valued at £4,000. In conjunction with this the hall has been enlarged to nearly twice its former size, and a free library and reading room, with a technical school have been built at a cost of between £5,000 and £6,000. .... A new free library and technical school were opened at Altrincham, near Manchester, on the 5th inst. In conjunction with this the hall has been enlarged to nearly twice its former size, and a free library and reading-room, with a technical school, have been built at a cost of between £5,000 and £6,000.
