Ash Mill, Jubilee Street, Shaw

Built at a cost of £20,000 by the Ash Spinning Co Ltd. Two months before completion the mill “blew down” in a gale but was still completed on time. An extension to the carding shed was made in 1886 and further extensions took place in 1920. The mill ceased production in 1984 when the employees transferred to the Grape Mill in Royton and was demolished in 1985. Spindleage (1915) 96,276, Platts.  Engine J Musgrave & Sons 1400 hp.
