LLANDDERFEL. OPENING A NEW CHAPEL—On Monday and Tuesday, the 27th and 28th September, opening services were held at the Calvinistic Methodist New Chapel in this place. The chapel is a most beautiful structure, well adapted for its purposes, and reflects much credit upon the architect, Mr Richard Owen, Liverpool, and the contractors, Messrs. Hugh Davies and Son, Llandrillo. We are informed that the lands and building cost about £1,200. [Aberystwyth Times 2 October 1869 page 4]

Llandderfel Methodist Chapel was built in 1814, modified in 1869 and rebuilt in 1888. The present chapel, dated 1888 and designed by architect Richard Owens of Liverpool, is built in the Lombardic/Italian style with a gable-entry plan, triple and wheel windows. [Coflien]
