CONSECRATION AT OLDHAM – Yesterday the Bishop of Manchester consecrated the new church of St Thomas, Moorside, Oldham. The church is situated near the extensive manufactories of Messrs Mellodew and it has been built and endowed by Mr T Mellodew of that firm. It is seated to accommodate 500 people and has been erected at a cost of about £9,000. … school and parsonage have been erected near the church.
