Memorial stones of a Congregational Church were laid in Rochdale-road, Shaw on Saturday. It will cost £2000 and be Gothic in style. The chapel will be 54 feet by 40 feet and it will accommodate 40 persons. There will be a lofty organ chamber and end gallery, the latter crossing a mosaic tiled vestibule. Mr Harold Cheetham, Oldham, is the architect and Mr William Harrison, Shaw, the principal contractor. [Building News 28 April 1893 Page 588]
