ALTRINCHAM BATHS EXTENSION Yesterday afternoon the addition of the public baths at Altrincham, built by the District Council at a cost of £4,500, was opened Mr. Gerald Whitwham, chairman of the Baths Committee. The extension has made an important improvement to the buildings, which altogether have cost £10,000, towards which £3,000 was contributed the committee the Jubilee Commemoration Fund. The original building was designed by Messrs. T. Worthington and Son, Manchester, and the extension is in harmony with the general design. Mr. Percy D. Lodge, of Manchester, has been the architect for the extension. The galleries of the new baths have accommodation for eight hundred spectators. [Manchester Courier 19 August 1909 page 10]
