Yellow ashlar. The sides have the familiar long lancets between buttresses but the west front is unusual. The west tower is flanked by a kind of rudimentary west transepts containing the stairs to the west gallery. The top of the tower is of 1938 and the chancel of 1914 (Pevsner S Lancs Pg 66)
