The house at Rosslare was placed at the top of high cliffs which fell from it sheer down to the seashore. It was turned with its front not parallel with the edge of the cliff for various reasons, the chief being that it might face due south, others being to secure a view of a charming headland and of the country inland for the chief rooms.
