When opened this was said to be the largest ring-spinning mill in the world. The modern ring machines were installed in a mill of traditional design in accordance with established architectural practice. A long mill with twin mansard towers balancing a central name pediment. Electric lighting to be provided. Cost between £60,000 and £70,000.
