Lancashire and Yorkshire Branch Bank, Heywood
LANCASHIRE AND YORKSHIRE BRANCH BANK, HEYWOOD. The third bank illustrates what may be done with a very small piece of land. Heywood is a town on the north-east of Manchester, with considerable pretensions. The building we illustrate is a branch of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Bank, Manchester, consisting of banking- chamber, bank-parlour, offices, and residence for caretaker. The lower portion of the building is built of red sandstone, and the upper portion of Ruabon brick, 2}in. thick. The contractors are Messrs. Southern and Sons, of Salford, and the work has been carried out under the superintendence of Messrs. Maxwell and Tuke, architects, 29, Princess-street, Manchester.
